Oliver

Oliver

Penny, We are absolutely in love with Oliver. He is an amazing little pup! He is wonderfully social and healthy as can be. Also, our vet was very impressed with the vaccines that you offer. Oliver is doing very well, he is getting along with all of the pets just fine and he seems to be getting the whole potty training thing!

Freddie

Freddie

Dear Penny, I can''t thank you enough for my beautiful, healthy and very gifted puppy! Freddie has been home for only a couple of weeks, and yet it''s already difficult to remember life before her. I really appreciate the healthy and caring environment you provide your dogs and puppies. I''m certain it made a huge difference in Freddie''s great emotional and physical state when it was time for her to come home. Your continued help and advice on all matters concerning raising my new puppy have been invaluable; this is my first and you''ve been a great teacher. Your friend, Frank

Marley the cat has taken to him-Tigger wants to play with him all the time. Toby and him and warming up to him. We love him SO much. Of course I can’t stand to be without him. I know he should be in a small area at night but he is in bed with me snuggling (BAD MOM)… Only one accident in the bed on Adam I might add. We will see you soon and I will keep updating you with video and pictures.

Tika and Family

Tika and Family

Our female Tika mated with Penny's sweet and studly Rusty and we had the cutest little puppies 3 cute Lil males and 3 pretty Lil females. Penny has been more then helpful, thoughtful, and has gone above and beyond our expectations throughout this experience. We are so pleased to have use Penny as our stud service and Rusty as a wonderful "companion" for our dog. Family History: A little about us My Husband Jon and I (Deena) have been married for almost 3 years, we extended our family in Sept. 2006....Tika was our new little one, (we got her through Penny) she is the best dog we have ever been around, easy to train, very smart, great with children and a great companion. We knew right away we wanted to breed her, we thought everyone should have a "Tika." But I become pregnant with my first child, and Tika was ready to mate. I was very skeptical, having my first child and breeding for the first time. Everyone I knew thought I was crazy, but Penny made it that easy. I delivered my child on January 19,2008 and Tika delivered her puppies February 18,2008. We are doing great Penny has been there ever step of the way and we are enjoying ever minute with our 7 babies. Thank You Penny we can't express our thanks enough!!! Love Jon, Deena, Nola and Tika

Fritz

Fritz

Dear Penny, I can't tell you enough how happy we are with Fritz... He has turned out to be such a great dog and so friendly with all the dogs and people in the neighbor hood. We get compliments about him every day we are out and about walking him around the neighborhood. People have been asking me everyday where we got him from and I keep referiing them to you. I have attached a few recent photos. Take care Brett

Lola

Lola

Penny, you were right, she is one rough and tumble, active little girl! We are loving her so much, and Lucy is so happy. They have settled right in together and their energy levels are perfectly matched. She is already another member of our family - that we didnt even know we were missing! We took her to the vet this morning because she is coughing, and the rattling in her throat has gotten a little worse, but he thinks she just has a little cold. Other than that she is absolutely perfect. Her lungs are clear, and she doesnt have a fever. Thanks for taking such good care of your puppies.

Bentley

Bentley

Hi Penny, I just wanted to let you know that little Bentley is doing really well and his energy level is through the roof (he hops like a little bunny, it’s unbelievably cute). I just personally wanted to thank you for being so supportive of Lauren and I through this whole brand new puppy experience. I knew that it was going to be a big transition for the puppy, but I don't think Lauren and I new what was in store for us and we are both grateful for your encouragement and your support. Lauren and I were so impressed with how honorable and responsible you were to us when it came to Bentleys unexpected medical bills. I can't thank you enough for that and it truly made me realize that you really are more than Bentley's breeder but rather our friend now. I have attached a couple of photos so you can see how Bentley has grown and what a handsome little pup he is. Thanks Penny for being not only a great breeder but a great friend!

Chloe

Chloe

Chloe is doing great!!! She is coming into her own now, and she is about to graduate from training lessons this weekend. She is still shy when it comes to kids and new faces in the house, but she sure is the life of the party at any dog park and is a socialite with other dogs, especially big dogs. The bigger the better! She loves to play chaise in the house and is super curious and growing more and more intelligent as the days go on. Everyone falls in love with her and I have been referring a lot of people your way. Hope all is well and here is a pick of our little love bug, Chloe.

Dink

Dink

Hi Penny! Dink is a happy puppy who is loving every minute of life! She MUST say 'hi' to every person and dog that goes by her... not a request I can ignore, since most of the time people stop me first to tell me what a beautiful puppy I have! She is full of energy and curiosity, always exploring and awaiting the next adventure of her "dinkish" life! She loves to go the dog park and frolic with the other dogs, and especially loves when other Bosties are there. She is so smart, always listens, and loves to perform tricks for cookies. Dink is our little angel, and we love cuddling with her every night.... it's always the perfect ending to every perfect day with our adorable brown bostie! Thank you so much for everything! Solomon

Solomon

I just wanted to e-mail you to let you know how completely happy you have made me. My Solomon is the joy of my life (next to my fiance) and he brings us so much joy. He loves his big brother and tries to protect him. He is attached to him at the hip. He is such a loving dog. When you say you breed for temperament you are not kidding. He is so well mannered, behaves almost like an angel, and he listens well. He still gets mischievous and is still an escape artist (I have to put two baby gates up, one on top of the other, if I want to keep in out or in of a room). He is now 5 1/2 months old. So I still have a a ways to go with him. But he makes it easy and worth it, especially when you look at those beautiful light brown eyes. He is so handsome. Thank you so much.

Rusty

Rusty

Hi Penny! Well it's been nearly two weeks since we've taken our new little buddy Rusty home, and it's going great! He had an appointment with the vet last week for shots and a check up and the vet says he couldn't be healthier. Rusty has been having a good time coming with us to work, and is adjusting to the time he spends alone at home. He's playful and loving, and very gentile with my four year old niece. My whole family has fallen in love with this little guy, and we can't wait to watch him grow up. Thanks again for this sweet pup!

Brock

Brock

Dear Penny, Thank you so much for everything. We are absolutely thrilled with Brock. He is so cute, sweet, loving, and well behaved! We are so happy with how he is learning, and it is so neat to see his progress. He has already learned to climb up and down our staircase, and is well on his way to sitting on command... Not to mention the crate training, which has been relatively easy since he was already introduced to a crate when we took him home.He is such a joy. We couldn't imagine having any other puppy! We had our first visit to the vet today (a referral from Dr. Knox_, and it went really well - he received a clean bill of health :)Thanks!

Fenway

Fenway

Our little Fenway was born on April 17, 2006. It was such a big step for me and my husband to commit to a puppy - but we are SO happy that we made the decision to get him. Penny was wonderful through the entire process - we visited him several times - including on his birthday and we have a fabulous collection of photos of him. He is the BEST little puppy in the whole wide world. He's a little monster, but he has stolen our hearts! Go Red Sox!!!

Molly

Molly

Dear Penny: All I can say is thank you for raising such a sweet puppy. On Molly's first day home with us we both enjoyed a KissFest with her, but it continues every day. She is a bundle of puppy energy and funny antics. We are especially pleased with how well she sleeps in her crate. The first night she cried a little, but after that we don't hear a peep out of her the entire night. Thank you for introducing her to the crate and making it that much easier for us to train her. It's quite clear to us that Molly was raised in a loving environment because she demonstrates that to us every day. Thank you so much. We love our beautiful seal/white baby Boston girl!

Cocoa

Cocoa

Hello, Penny, my husband and I with, our dog Max, came to your home last week to look at your puppies. We ended up taking home a beautiful baby girl {Crystal}. We decided to name her Cocoa Louise "Cocoa". She is so sweet and we just love her. I also wanted to tell you that the crate training couldnt be better, thanks to YOU! Because of the fact that you started the crate training with our puppy by the time we took her home we had nothing to worry about. The first night when we were ready to go to bed my husband and I were like "Oh boy, here we go, no sleeping tonight". Boy, were we WRONG!!! Cocoa cried for about 1 minute or 2 and went right to sleep. She didnt wake up untilthe next morning when we got up! Thats how its been since we brought her home. Thank you Penny for making it so easy for us!!!

Tova

Tova

I just wanted to say "thank you" for all your help with Tova (aka Brittany). She has brought joy, love, and lot of laughs to my life and to the lives of all those who surround me. I do not have a day where someone stops and tells me how cute and sweet Tova is. Tova is going to training classes and is somewhat hyperactive at training, but she excels and is loved by her classmates. Attached is one of my favorite pictures. Thank you so much.

Chico

Chico

Hi Penny, I just wanted to give you an update on Chico. So far he is doing great, we are so happy with him! He is such a sweetheart, and we are all having a blast together. We took him to the vet yesterday and he said he was in great shape. Everyone at the vet's office fell in love with him, the staff couldn't believe how well-behaved he is. He just snuggled up in my lap, and didn't cry or bark at all. Thanks so much for taking such great care of him! You're home is amazing and the dog's kennel was great. I was a little worried that he would have a hard time adjusting to our home, but so far we have not had any problems at all. I will keep you updated with his progress and send you some more pics as he grows up. Thanks again for everything!

Texas

Texas

We wanted to get a Boston puppy because they are the best dogs in the world (we had one previously). We were going to be going on a trip later I the year so we were just looking and were going to get one after the trip. We saw some ads in the paper and we contacted all of them. We went to see 3 different breeders. Penny was the third one we went to. When we got there Penny was very cheerful and very helpful. I could really tell that she loved her doggies and she cared a lot about them, this was very important to me. I also noticed that she made sure they had a clean and very nice home. She showed us all the puppies and my husband fell in love with little Texas. Then Penny sat there with us for like an hour and a half answering our every question, which was very enlightening. While we were talking I was playing with Texas and he was sooooooooooooooooo cute! We had to get him that day! So we did. One of the things that I first liked about Penny was that when I looked at her web site she said she breeds the dogs for companionship. That is definitely what Texas is, he's our little buddy and he is adorable. Thank you so much Penny for having such cute puppies, for taking such good care of them and of us when we came to pick one. I will definitely come back to you for our next puppy and if anyone who I know is looking I will send them your way.

Sadie

Sadie

Our experience buying a puppy through penny at puppies-dot-com has been completly wonderful in every way. This was the best experience for the fact that we could watch our puppy grow 24 hours a day through the web cam and had direct contact with Penny at all times (within reason). My two children were on the web cam at least three times a day. We already new our puppy before bringing her home, by watching her behaviors and how she interacted with the other puppies, in her litter. Penny made everything go so smoothly and seamless. She was always open for suggestions and always available for our questions. The conditions in which the puppies were kept and raised is ideal!

Boston Terriers

Do Boston Terriers Have To Be Black/White To Be Registered With The AKC?

NO. I have been breeding and registering boston terriers with the AKC for years. As a breeder of both black/white and red/while bostons, I receive numerous calls, and e-mails, from people asking about the AKC standards for this wonderful breed. So I have decided to dedicate a page on my website to hopefully clear up any confusion my visitors might have concerning the various colors of these wonderful dogs.

AKC Registered red/white boston terriers have been popular in the mid-west for years, and recently their popularity is spreading like wildfire all over the US. And why not, all one has to do is see a photo of one of these little darlings to fall in love with them.

Why Are People So Confused About The Color?

If you were to visit the AKC website located at www.akc.org and enter the word boston terrier as your search you will be directed to a page that lists the AKC standard for this breed. You will notice that they list coat colors of black/white, brindle/white, and or seal/white (which is black with a reddish undercoat) but no place on their website are the colors red/white, brown/white, or chocolate/white mentioned for the boston terrier breed - why is this? The AKC standard, listed on this website, is for SHOW purposes only and currently the only color that meets the standard for show is black/white.

What If I Am Looking For a Champion Show Dog?

If you intend on purchasing a puppy with the hopes of entering him/her in the show ring, then I recommend two things; 1. Dont buy from me. My puppies are not show quality. I, and my partners, breed for temperament and companionship. 2. Purchase a black and white puppy that meets with the AKC standard for show.

What If I Have No Intentions Of Showing My Dog?

Then you have come to the right place. As I mentioned earlier I do not breed for show quality dogs and both the AKC and ACA happily registers my companion quality boston terriers in colors described as red/white, brown/white and chocolate/white. I have written documentation from the AKC and as follows, "Puppies born of litters where both the parents are AKC registered qualify for AKC registration. For the Boston Terrier breed, Seal and White (170) would be used to describe a red and white dog. . . ". Although the Seal/white color would be considered black/white with reddish undertones, if the dog were to enter the show ring, this is not the case for companion quality dogs. Companion quality dogs do not have to meet Show Ring Standards to be registered with the AKC.
